I did an art class with four 4th graders where I told them they could use whatever makeup they wanted, but we were going to do portraits of each other in the style of Cubism. It was so funny to see how they all wanted to just “do it right” versus play with the idea of imperfection. I love the contrast of the two womens appearances and it was fun to find a way to create some fluidity between the two while still keeping their uniqueness at the forefront.
